Ginni and I just got back from an important reconnaissance mission: checking out the location for Crazy for Ewe's 4th Annual Retreat April 24-26. We'll be spending three days and two nights in charming Winchester Virginia. The George Washington Hotel and Spa combines old world charm with modern luxuries.

There's are two elegant restaurants right in the hotel, a lovely indoor pool, and a spa where you can get a massage and all that other cool stuff you do at a spa. The hotel is just a block from the historic downtown featuring dozens of adorable boutiques, outdoor cafes, and specialty shops.

Ginni and I stopped in at several places including a fabulous French Bakery -- fresh almond croissants, pain au chocolate, tarts, bread, and more.

I would have bought two of everything, but we had just stuffed ourselves at Em.

Our grilled chicken sandwich was garnished with Bacon marmalade (I know, right) and arrived with hand cut truffle fries and delicate house made coleslaw. it was possibly the best sandwich I have ever eaten, and that's saying something.

The retreat will begin Friday evening with a meet and greet wine reception followed by dinner in our private room. Saturday you'll be at your leisure to enjoy breakfast at the hotel or hop out to the French Bakery and try a few of their delicious pastries. At 10 a.m. we'll offer our fun Stash class, so bring your stash and spend the morning sorting it out and getting started on a terrific project with yarn you already have! We'll enjoy a salad and sandwich buffet lunch together in our meeting room. You can spend the rest of the day either knitting on your project or enjoying the town and the Apple Blossom Festival and Virginia wine tasting. Saturday night is the perfect night to try one of the 30 restaurants in downtown Winchester. I'll be sending out a list of favorite picks as the time gets closer.

Sunday morning we'll have a special show and share brunch buffet with Virginia country style! We have such a fun weekend with lots of fun surprises planned for you! Hurry and register as soon as you can, because this is going to be amazing, and you don't want to miss out!  Register here

This looks like fun! Are husbands “allowed”? I’d like to bring mine to site see with but make him go away while I’m playing and learning with the other knitters.
