I'm here in beautiful Portland, Oregon for the Yarn Market News (YMN) Conference.  I've always wanted to attend this event, but for one reason or another, I've never been able to make it.  But this year, all the stars aligned perfectly and here I am.

The folks at YMN are all about small local independent yarn shops, so they naturally chose an independent hotel.  Their pick was The Nines.  The name just about says it all.  Here are some shots of my room

    And the bath, of course...

I would like to move in here, honestly.  The reception desk has these huge sprays of cymbidium orchids and everyone treats you as if you were some visiting dignitary.  I've learned lots of stuff and met some really lovely yarn store owners from all over the country.  It's been great, and now off to the "gala dinner" at the downtown art museum.  I'll try to take some photos without looking like a rube.
