Today is a great day!  Today I finished compiling my tax information - a year's worth of the shop's financial information on a single sheet of paper.  Seems crazy to think that all that we do every day can be distilled into one simple statement.  My darling husband will churn these into some report for an overworked IRS staffer to review.  Or not review.  Whatever.  I have no idea what happens after I hand over my sheet of paper, and frankly, I don't care.  I don't resent paying my taxes - I just hate the impersonal way taxes reduce my business to a Profit and Loss Statement.  Can't be helped, I suppose, but it's such an inadequate report.  Last time I checked, there was no income category for laughter, or friendship.  No expense line for caring or compassion. These intangibles are the reason we get up in the morning.  We love what we do.  We love being together, and we love seeing you in the shop.

Crazy for Ewe is a business, for sure. Obviously we need positive cash flow to keep doing what we do - for beautiful yarns, fresh classes, and new product lines.  But all of those things are secondary.  Our prime mission objective is to provide a space where our customers connect and share, and are part of something.  Our new window says, "Create something beautiful today."  Certainly, that's an invitation to make a lovely fiber thing, but it's also an invitation to have a wonderful conversation, to share a happy moment, or make a new friend.  You're invited, you're included, you belong.

I look forward to seeing you in the shop and around the table.  You are always welcome here.
