Crazy for Ewe Retreat 2017

It's time! The 6th annual Crazy for Ewe Retreat is just around the corner, and it's going to be fabulous! We'll be relaxing, eating well, and focusing on the beautiful work of Andi Javori, owner of Javori Designs.

Andi's work has been featured in Vogue Knitting, Creative Knitting, Belle Armoire, and more. She is a favorite of Stacy Charles and has designed for a number of his collections. We first met up with Andi at the TNNA show last summer and fell in love with her work. We decided to feature her beautiful designs and samples at a special exclusive trunk show at our 2017 retreat.

The dates are Friday, March 17 through Sunday, March 19.  We'll be staying at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland.  If you haven't been to Ocean City in a while, you're in for a pleasant surprise.  Just below the Delaware border, this hotel sits right on the beach -- we've never done a beachfront retreat, and I thought this would be a fun change.  The hotel itself is part of the Clarion family of hotels, and I've been very impressed with their menus, amenities, and customer service.

Stop at Market Street in on your way to the Crazy for Ewe retreat

Many of you will probably want to start out early and stop along the way to explore, because the retreat, like life is a journey, not a destination.  I plan to stop in Salisbury, one of Maryland's Main Street/Arts & Entertainment Districts for lunch and some window shopping -- I hear there's a great restaurant and a fabulous bakery there!  You are most welcome to join me.  Let me know and I'll share my itinerary with you. But don't linger in Salisbury too long. You'll want to get to the hotel by 5 so you can check in, pick up your swag bag, and meet up in our private room to say hey to your fellow retreaters before we head over to the Horizon Restaurant for our 6:30 dinner reservation.

After dinner you can take a sneak peek at the Javori trunk show. We'll have samples of Andi's patterns and kit projects for you to see and try on. And yes, we'll have kits available for purchase. I know you will love her unique and beautiful designs. Hang out, knit, and visit in our private meeting space, or you can make yourself comfortable in one of the hotels many cozy gathering spots.

Saturday morning you'll have a class on the Javori project included in your swag bag. We'll get you started on your fun and fast project. Andi's knit and crochet jewelry are almost immediate gratification. You'll be proud to wear this beautiful souvenir of your 2017 retreat.

After the class, you'll enjoy lunch together at the hotel restaurant and will have time to work on your project or browse the Javori trunk show. Andi has designs for both knit and crochet jewelry as well as cowls and scarves adorned with unique glasswork and other gems.

I'm putting together an optional wine and cheese tasting class at Touch of Italy, a superb Italian restaurant run by Food Network-featured chef Ciro Verdi from midtown Manhattan.

I'll also be having dinner there because what is a Crazy for Ewe retreat without an over-the-top Saturday night dinner out with your best knitting friends!

Sunday morning, you'll enjoy a Show and Share brunch in the Horizons restaurant overlooking the ocean. Bring your proudest handknits and show them off to the group. There is no more appreciative audience than your fellow knitters. After brunch, you can stay and visit the town some more (I plan to go back to Touch of Italy and grab some treats to take home) or you can head home with your treasures and wonderful memories.

I hope you will join us - it's going to be fabulous!
