It's cold and rainy outside my window, but that's okay because I know spring is not far off.  I bought two big bunches of tulips today because I am hungry for spring and everything that is fresh and new and happy.  As a friend reminded me, it is time for me to put on color.  It is time for the whole earth to put on color, and what a show of colors we have for spring!

Spring knitting is my favorite because it's plenty cold, so I can still knit with and wear wool, but I get to play with those beautiful refreshing colors of spring.  After their long winter sleep, those soft shades just glow in the new light.  The light of spring is different.  The sun is still fairly low in the sky, so it shines gently.  Those soft colors that would feel washed out in summer glare, are ideal for this season.  Spring green, light lavender, and pale pink are perfect, as are buttery yellows and soft melon shades.  I can hear you jewel-tone lovers complaining already, but remember there are shades of spring colors that flatter every complexion.

The shop is brimming with exactly what you want to knit and need to wear right now - lots of fresh spring produce!  I'm especially excited that we've finally received our big order from Manos del Uruguay in all the fibers and colors you crave.  We still have the trunk show, and I'm going to do a Facebook Live event tomorrow as we open each box and see all the new lovelies!  It's all my effort to lure you to the March Manos Madness event next weekend.  While the rest of the world is watching NCAA Basketball, indulge yourself in beautiful new yarn.  I think you'll agree that this yarn, like spring, was worth the wait.

I look forward to seeing you in bloom at March Manos Madness, or just in the shop any time.  You are always welcome here.
