I get it.  It’s hard with all the demands on our time. Working moms at home with the kids, stay at home moms without a break, working women doing more than your share, and all of us trying to figure out how to navigate this new normal. It is ok to sit for a moment and notice without judgment what you are feeling. Taking a moment to calm and renew makes us all better at what we do and more ready to face whatever lies ahead.

Knitting is an excellent way to take that moment - to recharge and refresh. I know that I feel busy all the time, and the idea of just sitting still seems like a waste of precious time, but strangely knitting feels like both doing something and not doing something. The rhythmic movements are comforting and they soothe me as rocking does a fractious child.

That moment feels selfish, but it is as I have said before, like putting on your own oxygen mask first. We are all doing so much, and if we are not taking care of ourselves, it is very hard indeed to take care of all the others who depend on us.
I miss you very much, and I hope you are staying safe and well, and taking time for yourself to knit and be calm.

Until we are all back together in the shop and around the table, I look forward to seeing you at our virtual hangouts Friday morning, and on Facebook, Instagram. You are always welcome here.
