Lirico is a lovely, slim, cotton ribbon yarn from Louisa Harding. Honestly, this is some of the prettiest yarn of the season with its gently shifting colors and subtle contrast markings. It's colorful and fun without being garish or loud.
It's also nice to knit and makes the most glorious fabric. I like to give ribbon yarn a good pressing after it's knit -- a secret I learned from Sally Melville. A little steam creates an incredible fabric with beautiful drape.
The name is beautiful to say too - it just rolls off the tongue -- Lirico, Italian for an imaginative and beautiful way of expressing emotions. Isn't that just the loveliest! The colorways have fanciful names like O Fortuna, and La donna è Mobile -- makes you feel as if you're knitting an opera!

We designed the Crescendo shawl to take advantage of Lirico's beautiful color and texture.
With lots of lovely long fringe and shimmery beads, it really showcases Lirico's inherent beauty.
Lirico would also be perfect in a little summer shell - do it in plain stockinette and let the yarn do all the work!
