I am thrilled to welcome celebrated knitwear designer and author, Tanis Gray back to Crazy for Ewe for a wonderful lecture and class this November.
Join us Friday for a one-hour lecture on The science and theory behind color & how to use it in our knitting:
We live our lives surrounded by and immersed in color! Whether you embrace it or shy away from it, color can be a key to unlock hidden meaning or feeling in your knits. Join colorwork designer Tanis Gray as we discuss the science behind how and why we see color, the history behind colors that changed the world, color psychology, color in culture, comprehensive color theory, building a better color wheel, making good (and bad) color choices, and how we can take all this knowledge and use it in our knitting in a one-hour lecture.
Saturday, November 2nd you'll love learning a new technique, Estonian Inlay.
Learn the art of Estonian Inlay, or Roosimine in this hat workshop! Originating from the western Estonian island Muhu, this stranding technique has been used for centuries to embellish knitting. Sharing similar characteristics of stranded colorwork, intarsia, and embroidery, this beautiful technique adds texture and color to your knits. You’ll have the option to make a 2-colored hat, or a 3-colored hat with 2-colored Vikkle Braids. We will also cover twisted ribbing, blocking, and finishing techniques, and knit A Short Reprise Hat.
Tanis is truly one of the most talented designers and teachers in the industry - with more than a dozen books to her credit and scores of individual patterns she brings a wealth of knowledge to every class. You will learn so much and have a super fun time at this event.
Saturday class includes a catered lunch.
