Brushed fleece is soft and light and delicious to use. I love that it works up quickly on big needles, but never feels heavy. The yarn is "brushed" after it's spun, teasing up the fibers a bit to make a rich fabric that's cozy and warm to wear. A hefty chunk of alpaca enhances both softness and warmth in this luxurious yarn, .
For a sweater, Brushed Fleece is best at about 12-13 stitches per 4 inches, but for a shawl or cowl, you could certainly work it on a larger needle or hook for a fabric with an open feel and more drape. Despite its subtle halo, Brushed Fleece shows stitches really well and makes an especially nice yarn for cabled scarves, hats, and sweaters.
Brushed Fleece is part of the Mode at Rowan line and featured in its own book of patterns by Quail Studio. Check out the designs in the Featured Patterns tab.
