Novice is and example of a point I've been making for years. Sweater knitting does not have to be complicated. Novice is two rectangles sewn together. That's it. Not scary. Annabelle Speer has added some simple extended garter patterning in the body and a bit of eyelet lace at the top, which gives it lovely detail, but the construction itself is as straightforward as knitting gets. It's a dropped shoulder sleeveless top, shown worn with slightly less ease than typical, which makes the sleeve section sit high on the arm. A beginner sweater that doesn't look like one. Two to three skeins.
