    Handcrafted not Homemade

This retreat’s theme Handcrafted not Homemade —

What’s the difference, you ask?  A lot of it is in the finishing.  And good finishing is the difference between“Wow, that’s a beautiful sweater!” and “Ahh, I see you’ve taken up knitting…”

Handcrafted is the holy grail of knitting - things that look professional and polished - like store bought, only better.

Here’s what you’ll learn in the Saturday workshop of this retreat

    • Secrets tricks to use while you're knitting
    • Three different seaming techniques and which to use when
    • How to get confident in your finishing and learn to love it…and more

This workshop is an expanded version of the class I taught last month at Rowan Connect, and I think you will love it.

The retreat begins Friday evening at 5pm with a wine and cheese reception, followed by dinner together at Il Piccolo Morso. After dinner we’ll gather at the shop for dessert and knitting time.

Saturday morning we'll have the first half of our workshop, then we'll break for a yummy catered lunch and finish the workshop Saturday afternoon.

We should have plenty of time for Q&A and knitting afterwards. If you have garments to finish, bring them along,

Everyone is on her own for dinner Saturday night. We have lots of great restaurants in town, from NY style pizza at The Slice House to trendy upscale dining at Sweetbay.

Sunday we’ll have a Show and Share brunch at the shop - always a highlight of the retreat - bring your best Finished Objects to show off - you'll never have a more appreciative audience!  If you don't have to rush off, feel free to hang out at the shop and knit or visit the town.

It's going to be super special and exciting weekend of knitting!

I've reserved a block of rooms so you can choose whether you want to stay in town or head home and sleep in your own bed each night.  There are 15 rooms in our hotel block - a mix of king and double rooms.  You can book your room here  The rate is available for Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday night.  Be sure to indicate how many nights you would like to book at the special rate.

    It's going to be wonderful!
