The Winter 2024 Crazy for Ewe Retreat
Intuitive Knitting
The theme for this retreat is Intuitive Knitting. What does that mean?
- You know how expert knitters know just exactly where you are in your pattern, what mistake you've made, how to fix it?
- Are you amazed at how they can tell you whether a given yarn will work for a particular pattern, and if not, which one will?
- Do you envy their sense of yarn, fabric, techniques, and patterns?
These are intuitive knitting skills, and this weekend will focus on helping you gain those same skills so you can approach any project and any knitting situation with confidence.
This workshop is an expanded version of the class I taught last month at Rowan Connect, and I think you will love it.
The retreat begins Friday evening at 5pm with a wine and cheese reception, followed by dinner together at the Front Porch. After dinner we’ll gather at the shop for dessert and knitting time.
Saturday morning we'll have the first half of our workshop, then we'll break for a yummy catered lunch and finish the workshop Saturday afternoon.
We should have plenty of time for Q&A and knitting afterwards.
Everyone is on her own for dinner Saturday night. We have lots of great restaurants in town, from NY style pizza at The Slice House to trendy upscale dining at Sweetbay.
Sunday we’ll have a Show and Share brunch at the shop - always a highlight of the retreat - bring your best Finished Objects to show off - you'll never have a more appreciative audience! If you don't have to rush off, feel free to hang out at the shop and knit or visit the town.
If you're able to stay, I have scheduled a special even at my favorite bra salon Monday morning. We'll meet at the shop and carpool up to a la Mode Intimates where we'll have a private presentation on bra fit and private measuring for bras that will make you look and feel fantastic!
It's going to be super special and exciting weekend of knitting!

I've reserved a block of rooms so you can choose whether you want to stay in town or head home and sleep in your own bed each night. There are 15 rooms in our hotel block - a mix of king and double rooms. You can book your room here The rate is available for Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday night. Be sure to indicate how many nights you would like to book at the special rate.

Schedule
Friday - arrive in Leonardtown and explore our beautiful little town. Check in to your hotel, and see the area.- 5:00 pm Reception at Crazy for Ewe - join us at the shop for a glass of wine and a nibble and a first look at the trunk show
- 6:00 Dinner at the Front Porch
- 8:00 Dessert and Cocoknits techniques at Crazy for Ewe.
- 9:00 am arrive at shop
- 9:30 - Part 1 of workshop
- 12:30 Break for Lunch
- 1:30 Part 2 of workshop
- 4:30 Workshop finished
- On our own for dinner

- 10:00 Show and Share Champagne Brunch

Monday
- 8:00am meet at shop to arrange carpool for trip to a la Mode intimates.
- 10am a la Mode intimates
- 12:30pm anyone who can stay will get a quick lunch near the bra salon
- Everyone heads home or to the airport!
