This week is First Friday - our project is Nymphalidea, a beautiful shawl that brings to mind a butterfly's wings.  Our sample is worked in two shades of a subtly self striping, softly marled yarn.  Ginni is working the sample, and it's turning out really pretty.  Get the pattern here. You'll also want to download the Extras file which is a compilation of  modifications and improvements various Ravelry users have made that you might like to incorporate in your Nymphalidea.

Saturday we're opening the Picnic Trunk show featuring Berroco Modern Cotton.  My favorite project from this show is the gorgeous summer afghan, Hydrangea.  Three colors and three different stitch patterns, so you'll learn as you work, and end up with a beautiful cohesive piece. Wouldn't this be a breath of fresh air on your sofa this spring and summer!

If you haven't been in the shop in the past week, be sure to stop in and see our new sample Giotto, a great little top worked in new Solare by TSC Fine Yarns. It's so cute, and you'll look up to the minute with its trendy colorblock style.

This has be a super popular pattern, and the yarn is going fast, so if this is one you've been thinking about, don't wait.

I look forward to seeing you First Friday - come join us in the shop and around the table. You are always welcome here.
