What a great Alchemy class we had today in La Plata! Marjorie and Ann both chose the Math Geek scarf in Silk Purse
Evelyn chose the Tides Scarf using a single strand of Silk Purse and Haiku held together.
Martha was busy checking out the fab projects in the newest issue of Vogue Knitting we received yesterday!
Everyone made amazing progress - Evenlyn will tell you she's a beginner, but I think not.
And Marjorie was just zipping away -- she'll be done by tomorrow, I'll bet.
I swatched up the Silken Straw on a size 5 in this gorgeous teal. I'm a bit of a loose knitter, but I still think most folks would prefer this fiber on a 4. This little swatch has been washed in warm water with plain old dish soap. Softened up a lot, and didn't bleed at all. I'm thinking this fiber would be perfect in that Sally Melville design, Where's the Opaque, from the Knit Stitch. Silken Straw is so light and cool - perfect for the summer when the weather sizzles.
