New kid on the block

Today, I had my first visit from Thomas Ascough. He represents Euro Yarns, which is Elsebeth Lavold, Louisa Harding, Queensland, and a couple of other lines. He looks like a kid, but don't let Thomas' fresh face fool you. He's a smart, funny guy who really knows his stuff. Oh, and by the way, he knits. But sorry, ladies, he's already engaged. Too bad.

Thomas showed me some lovely yarns yesterday, and I bought a ton of them. Among my favorite picks, is a brand new yarn from Louisa Harding called Thistle. I beautiful blend of merino and alpaca with a great color range, and a gauge of 4.5 stitches per inch on an 8 - my favorite gauge. He had a swatch knit up that had been handled quite a bit during his various appointments, and it showed no sign of wear. He left me a skein of it in a gorgeous aqua to play with, so we'll swatch it up and play a bit.

Here's the swatch

and a snapshot of the colorcards - the aqua is color 4. Gorgeous.
