Scarves - for looking cool, not just keeping warm

I got to the shop last week and it was totally frosty inside. I was glad to have on my jacket and scarf.  It's just a slip of a thing worked with Rowan Kidsilk Haze, but it actually did serve to keep me cozy.

Then the other night we were at Johnny's wrestling meet, and I saw all the young girls wearing scarves tucked inside their cute Northface jackets.  It had to be 74 degrees inside the gym, so you know that the girls were not wearing their scarves to keep warm - it was a fashion statement. Because I'm not a particularly detailed person, I often overlook the power of accessories.  Other women remind us of why we should not.

Paula, who looks consistently fabulous has always worn scarves with great panache.  See how her green scarf jazzes up a simple cream turtleneck!

There's no need to limit yourself to just one scarf.  Pair a knitted one with your favorite pashmina for incredible texture.  I'm going to try and keep my camera handy and document other great scarf moments both in and out of the shop.  Stay tuned.
