That beret

Thea was in Leonardtown Friday afternoon looking for the beret pattern I mentioned in a recent post. I realized that I hadn't included the link to the pattern, so hereit is.  I gave Thea the pattern name and didn't think anything more about it.  Then Saturday, she was in the shop wearing it - isn't it cute on her!

Mine is coming along, but not nearly so fast.

The pattern calls for Malabrigo worsted, a heavy worsted weight single ply yarn.  Since I wanted this for summer, I'm using Rowan All Season's Cotton.  Thea had used a slightly finer weight yarn, and went with a smaller needle.  She said she likes it but might prefer a little more slouch.  I am definitely looking for plenty of slouch, so I'm using the 11 that the pattern recommends.  It goes pretty quickly, actually, and if you sat down to it, you really could knit it in one evening.  What's next on your needles, Thea?

It does go quickly – I’ve only picked it up twice for a few hours, but I’m already at the decreases. I’m using a size 10 1/2 with Berroco Vintage. I’ll have to bring it in when I’m done!
