    A temperature blanket lets you tell that story in yarn. Each day’s high temperature determines the color, and two simple rows of knitting become a record of a particular year in a particular place.

    Follow 2027 as it happens, or use historical temperatures to celebrate a year from the past. The palette is our 2027 collection; the year you knit is entirely yours. You can work a little each day, gather a week’s temperatures and settle in for an evening, or knit through a past year at your own pace. 

    Your starter kit includes:

    Our 2027 palette brings together twelve beautiful shades of Rowan Felted Tweed, moving from deep woodland greens and charcoal through rich purples and reds to glowing golds and orange for the warmest days. The yarn’s soft tweedy texture brings the colors together into a blanket you’ll enjoy using as much as making
    an eyelet row marks the beginning of each month. Add a strand of silver DMC Diamant on birthdays, anniversaries, and other days you want to remember—a little glimmer woven into the story.

    The pattern offers instructions for a blanket or a narrower wrap, with temperature ranges you can adjust for your chosen location.

    This is a starter kit. Additional skeins may be needed depending on your temperatures, gauge, and project size.

    Specifications

    Kit contents: Twelve skeins of Rowan Felted Tweed, two spools of silver DMC Diamant metallic floss, printed blanket/wrap pattern, and yarn palette card.

    Needles: US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needle, 32" or longer, or size needed to obtain gauge. Worked flat.

    Other supplies: Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

    Gauge: Approximately 22 stitches per 4" in garter stitch.

    Finished dimensions: Blanket approximately 54" × 66"; wrap approximately 27¼" × 66". Dimensions vary with gauge and number of days recorded.

    Techniques: Knit stitches, slipped stitches, yarn overs, knit two together, and changing colors.

    Additional yarn: This starter kit provides one skein per color. Additional skeins may be needed depending on your temperatures and project size.
