Bring a playful mix of color to your everyday layers with Out of the Box, a cardigan designed by Sandi Prosser for Noro. Contrast pockets, striped sleeves, and ribbed edges give this V-neck cardigan its distinctive character.
Knit in Noro Malvinas, this project combines stockinette stitch with pocket fronts and a four-button closure. Wear it over a simple tee and let the color combinations do the talking.

Finished bust, buttoned: 39½ (44, 48, 52, 55½, 59½, 63) inches / 100.5 (112, 122, 132, 141, 151, 160) cm.
Finished length: 22½ (23, 23½, 24, 24½, 25, 25) inches / 57 (58.5, 59.5, 61, 62, 63.5, 63.5) cm.
Finished upper arm: 14¾ (16¼, 17¼, 18, 19, 20, 20) inches / 37.5 (41.5, 44, 45.5, 48.5, 51, 51) cm.
Yarn: Noro Malvinas, 150g balls. Color A #17: 2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3) balls. For every size: color B #40, 1 ball; color C #14, 2 balls; color D #49, 1 ball. Total: 6 (6, 6, 7, 7, 7, 7) balls.
Needles: One pair US 7 / 4.5mm; one pair US 8 / 5mm, or size to obtain gauge; one US 7 / 4.5mm circular needle, 32 inches / 80 cm long.
Notions: Stitch markers, stitch holders, and four ¾-inch / 19mm buttons.
Gauge: 17 stitches and 25 rows = 4 inches / 10 cm in stockinette stitch using US 8 / 5mm needles. Check gauge before beginning.
Construction and techniques: Back, fronts, and sleeves are worked flat and seamed, with set-in sleeves. Pocket fronts use intarsia with separate pocket linings. Features include striped sleeves, K2, P2 ribbed edges, a picked-up front and neckband, and four one-row buttonholes. Includes written instructions and a schematic.
