One of the best parts of being in a knitting community is seeing what everyone has on their needles. Inspiration is contagious, and I love to watch a project take shape, whether it's on my needles or someone else's. It's especially fun when it’s something I’ve been curious about or maybe didn’t even know I wanted to knit! Our team at Crazy for Ewe is always working on something new (or finishing up those last 20% bits!) so I thought it would be fun to share a peek at what’s currently keeping our needles busy.
Whitney always has something fabulous in the works, and right now she’s juggling three!
Lova by Britt Marie (Ito So Asa + Kinu)
Baguette Jacket by Soumine Kim (Lucky Tweed + Trinity Cashmere)
Moon Set Tee by Ozetta (Rowan Creative Linen)
What drew her in? The yarn combination for Lova, the “wow” factor of the Baguette Jacket, and the timeless appeal of the Moon Set Tee. Whitney says her favorite thing is that all three projects are so different, which keeps things fresh. Her warning?
The Baguette is a true labor of love — and right now, it’s taken up residence on sleeve island!
Keisha has three projects in rotation, too — a summer tank, a top, and a gift knit.
Gambi Tank by Quail Studio (Summerlite 4ply)
Lova Top by Britt Marie (Ito So Asa + Kinu)
Flax Sweater by Tin Can Knits (Rowan Kid Classic)
The Gambi has been a slow burn — she started last year but had a dye lot snag that stalled things. Now she’s back at it and loving the smooth, soft fabric.
The Lova Top excited her because it let her try holding two yarns together, and she learned just how important swatching and blocking are. And then there’s the Flax Sweater for Jason, her very sweet and super knit-worthy husband— a cozy, TV-watching project with a fun garter detail along the sleeves.
Fresh back from our her UK trip for her granddaughter Kayleigh's wedding, Ginni has been busy too!
She finished Lily by Yumiko Alexander in a gorgeous steel gray shade of DanDoh linen. It was the perfect travel garment — lightweight, versatile, and chic. Ginni says she wore it over tanks and tees throughout the trip and loved how it instantly dressed up even jeans.
She’s also working on designing a Chanel-style cardigan in Tea Island. Right now she’s reworking the neckline decreases and planning out the sleeves. It's one thing to design for yourself, but quite another to actually draft a pattern in multiple sizes. She is amazing.
Mary has been loving her #21 Yayoi Cardigan in Noro Akari. She chose the Ichihara colorway because the shades were irresistible, and she was thrilled that the cardigan only takes two balls. The stitch pattern is easy and meditative, and the fabric is soft, warm, and just perfect for our climate.
She started in June and would’ve been finished by now if not for a small health hiccup, but she’s nearly there — and we can’t wait to see it on her!
As for me, I’m finishing up Fountain, a sweet little cami top by Lisa Richardson in Rowan Cotton Trio. Just need to pick up and work the I-cord trim and straps. I’m also 99% done with my Tailored Vest (just need to sew on the buttons — my least favorite part!)
I also just bound off my Lova Top Monday morning, and with a quick steam block it’ll be ready for me to wear on YouTube Wednesday night.
It feels like everything finished all at once — isn’t that always the way? You spend forever in the middle, and then suddenly everything's almost done and you're stalled at that last 0.01% done.
That’s what’s on our needles — what’s on yours? I'd love to hear about it. Leave a comment and share what you’re working on — you never know who you might inspire!
Warmly,
Ellen

just finished binding off and blocking a siren song scarf by louise zass-bangham as a donation to the st mary’s county democrats’ fundraiser auction, made in one strand of rowan fine lace ‘mariana’ held with one strand of jaggerspun zephyr ‘blueberry’, and it turned out gorgeously! currently on needles are a peacock feathers stole by dorothy siemens in katia air lux ‘beige’, a stola morozko stole by ulliko tairova in fyberspates scrumptious 4-ply ‘ice’, a smoky mountain bear by sara elizabeth kellner in rowan alpaca classic ‘sierra melange’, a timber wolf by sara elizabeth kellner in one strand of mountaintop yarns magnolia fingering ‘haunted’ held with one rowan kidsilk haze ‘anthracite’, a miter ed rainbow blanket by angela renee that i’ve been slogging through weaving all the fifty billion ends into but i can SEE THE LIGHT, i am SO CLOSE, and a mystic mist shawl by anna dalvi in blue heron yarns rayon metallic ’robin’s egg’ that i think i might either frog and heavily modify from the ground up or else find a different pattern because i don’t like how the pi shawl double-the-stitch-count increase rows disrupt the cohesion of the motifs… yes i know that’s a lot of projects but that means i can circulate them all through time-out as needed when they annoy me and still have something to work on, LOL

Working on the Lova using Cloudborn Merino Alpaca Sport and happy to say it should be ready for September’s cooler temps (adjustments made: longer length in body and sleeves, some waist shaping). Also working on the Tine pullover in Norwegian Wool (which is stickier than Felted Tweed, so switched from Rowan birch needles to Knitter’s Pride Royale, birch with metal points — so smooth!).

This is so fun to see everyone’s projects! I am working on Lily with the Dandoh yarn Mist as well. Love these giant log needles as this will be fast!

I’m sewing the buttons on Pomegranate – the beautiful lace sweater from Rowan 77. I enjoyed the knit, but it was definitely a stay home project to ensure the lace was correct! I’ve also started Mangosteen – the short sleeve ribbed sweater also in Rowan 77. It’s an easy portable project, and even though it’s on a US 3, I’m finding it is going quickly. I also have a cardigan that I need to get back to; its on Front Island – I did the back and sleeves, but need to get back to the fronts – its fast on a 10, but has languished since spring because its such a warm knit!

Hello! Fascinating reading about what everyone is knitting. I’m just finishing the last rows of Contrast Bobble Cushion by Caroline Birkett (in Rowan felted tweed) for my little boy, who wanted me to knit him “a bunch of pillows,” and just started on Kim Hargraves’ Portia in Rowan Summerlite DK from her book Divine.
